The Jersey City Theater Center will be presenting the 2nd Annual 2020 Voices International Theatre Festival, a 10-day virtual event hosting 24 productions from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the United States, which will run from October 16 to October 25.

I felt thirsty for art, whatever it may be and whatever it wanted to say. Catenations quenches this thirst with a variety of artworks that explore the theme of water on multiple levels, both global and local. I was drawn to works that touched on this theme in a way that became personal, either by being intimate and tactile, or because of a heightened psychological and emotional charge.

As an art critic and curator, I tend to do my traveling through the close study of visual artworks, by gazing at paintings, photographs and especially cinema. All the more charming and enchanting then was my discovery a few years ago of the breathtakingly original travel writing of one Xavier de Maistre.
