During this unprecedented time of COVID-19, many objects came to the forefront as necessities to help fight the virus. In the The Elusive photographic series, I am commemorating this time in history via these objects: hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, Lysol, toilet paper and more. The great demand for these supplies caused an extreme shortage that, in return, made these objects rare finds. It also increased their value and elevated them to iconic status. The quadrants and divisions in many of the images in this series represent our quarantine period and the four walls that sheltered us in place. The gradations and latent exposures are indicative of how, in times of panic, certain products tend to sell out and disappear off the shelves and become elusive.
